Automatic Deployment rule enables you to create update package automatically according to some criteria such as release date. It is possible for example to create update package automatically every month. Once the package is created, it is automatically deployed..
To create Automatic Deployment Rule, go to Software Library and right click on Automatic Deployment Rule and click on Create Automatic Deployment Rule
Write the role name windows 7 monthly patch, Select Patch Tuesday Template (We can save our custom setting as new template on the summary page), and specify the target collection ours is Windows7
Specify the logging level Click Next.
Select and define filtering criteria for the updates you want to include we selected Release date, language, product, severity and update Classification.
We will run the rule at last Wednesday of each month.
Choose the software available time (on the software center for the clients) and installation deadline (installation will be done by sccm) .Click Next.
At the user experience we can define what use will see and suppress restart action if needed. Click Next.
Will leave the Download Setting as it is, Click Next.
Here we will create new deployment package. It is necessary to specify a package source, this is the path where update binaries are stored. A folder can’t be used for more than one package source.
Add the Distribution point .Click Next.
At the Summary you can save your setting as Template for using later .Click Next.
At the date we specified the deployment is created
The update is only available and scheduled for installation after 7 days as we selected
